Ninjaman i think you got me wrong
i never compared the batting ability of lara against dravid or ponting
but what i did compared was his excuses
you may argue that he is doing for the sake of his team
but no captain in the cricket world will directly air grievences about his board an selection panel like lara did
it is like captain telling his players that i am already surrender against the opponents you people also be ready to surrender
in my humble opinion no player even the GREATTTT lara should speak/show bad feelings about the picth/selection publically(especially during the match)This could easily add him to the club of Captains with Excuses
I am not denying he scored more runs than any player in test cricket, but wahat i meant was not to compare his runs with his behaviour as a captain
the player may be a great bowler or batsmen but if he does behave like lara everytime infront of the camera talking about the pitch and selection it will do no good for the team
if he really want to say his concerns ,then he should prefer close room meetings not open air(washing dirty linen in public like greatttt ganguly)
you may be right for ponting but not for dravid
how many times you saw because of the rest of the team dravid's performance improved
i doubt more matchs than not dravid the one who saved the team not the likes of sehwag or harbhajan or sometime kumble
so dont say dravid is in the good team thats why he is performining well(in any team he will perform like he is doing right now even in kenyan team)
