I agree with both of you that we have done very well. The other thing to note is that many of the more obvious candidates for an England's Test/ODI squads actually did not meet the WAT A team criteria (either too old or too experienced). Otherwise, I am sure we would have selected the likes of Read and strongly considered Lewis.

It would also be interesting to look at the WAT England A team for 2004, selected back in Oct-2004:
Code:
1. Jefferson (Div 2) RHB
2. Hutton (Div 1) LHB
3. Smith (Div 1) RHB
4. Pietersen (Div 2) RHB, Right Arm Off Break
5. Bell (Div 1) RHB, Right Arm Medium
6. Collingwood (Div 2) RHB, Right Arm Medium
7. Wallace (wkt) (Div 2) LHB
8. Mascarenhas (Div 2) RHB, Right Arm Fast Medium
9. Harrison (Div 2) RHB, Right Arm Fast Medium
10. Lewis (Div 1) RHB, Right Arm Medium
11. Keedy (Div 1) LHB, Slow Left Arm Orthodox
We were correct with Pietersen, Bell, Collingwood and Lewis. And some of the others (eg Keedy) have not had full seasons since due to injury.
