Like the last ICC Trophy, which was held in England, this one holds one interest only: as a test of strength against Australia ahead of the Ashes. Although England lost in the final in the last tournament, no one really cared, because we had given the Aussies a sound whipping, and that was evidence that we could stand toe to toe with them and that our successes of 2004 were not a mirage. Likewise, this tournament will only be about laying down a marker and reacquainting the Aussies with the habit of losing to England.
