| Well Rachael, I do not know who wrote that report, but my guess is that it was Stevie Wonder. I have been following every over on cricinfo and if what the bulletin says is correct, then we would have seen the ball beat the bat every over and we would have seen lots of runs through the slip/gully region. This has not been the case. Pollock was using cutters to beat the bat, not seam movement. While SA have been bowling a bit too short, I would not say that there is no assistance and I will also not say that there is plenty of assistance. As with every pitch (including flat ones) there usually is something in it for the bowlers in the first session. We have now seen Pakistan push the run rate up after the lunch session which indicates to me that While the Pakistan batsman are playing well, the pitch is playing well ( batting wise) too.
