| There's also a chance, I'd have thought, that the Pakistanis' comments will be reported in Pakistan and not elsewhere - regardless of how good a job Mr Mir does. I just can't see cricket stories running "Inzamam, speaking through an interpreter, said ...", unless there is some confidence in the interpreter's skills. Mr Mir might be a great interpreter for all I know, but it's not his job and he has no track record for the world press to rely on, hence my concern that some parts of the press might just fail to report rather than taking a chance on Mr Mir's skills.
I think it's a bit short-sighted, to be honest, and it would not surprise me to see the decision reversed at some point.
