Well, there can be. I cannot recall the exact circumstances or conversation, but nearly 20 years ago, there was a good deal of misunderstanding between Javen Miandad, David Gower and an interpreter 'fluent in both languages' after a match which Pakistan had just won. Miandad himself was speaking in English, but there were one or two officials who were not and hence the interpreter. David Gower was trying to make light of England's loss by cracking a few jokes and there was some mention of drinking beer. It all started from there and almost got out of hand before common sense prevailed.
