Don't think a break to his little finger on his left hand will effect his bowling. The big question is - can he field and bat? If he can't then, is his bowling so important that you risk him in the field, or in the batting line up.

As it is he would probably bat at 11, and if he is batting then we are already in trouble, and you can hide him down at third man/fine leg for most of the game. I personally would risk it.


As for calling a player up, for me it would be Broad (played well on the A tour and was called up for the ODI series in Oz), as for calling up a wicket keeper (thanks Rachael - barmy as ever!!) or someone like Chappel I would hope that neither route is taken.

As it is, I can't see anyone being called up. Risk him for the one off game against NZ, rest him for the next two, and get him ready for the Super Sixes...
