As to his replacement, I would be very surprised if Moody or Whatmore or any non-Indian would want to touch the job with a bargepole unless they put financial considerations over personal ones. As for Gavaskar, there must be easier ways of breaking up the national team than sending them around the bend. But Sandip Patil might be a good choice; he did a good job with Kenya a few years ago.
