Given none of the real candidates have any significant amount of top level captaincy experience, you have to go with Vettori who has the brains and the experience to ensure that his game is not effected by the significant extra pressure.

Hopefully the new captain won't have to deal with the schizophrenic selection policies of John Bracewell.
