but I believe that a good alternative for ODIs would be Western Australia's Aaron Heal. His Pura Cup form's been average, granted, but he's had a very good season in the ING Cup, taking 7 wickets from 5 matches. He's always been economical, going at 4.2 this season, and he always gives it plenty of flight. I remember one match against Victoria, where his first four overs went for 27. He was brought back in the last fifteen, and bowling normally, his last six overs went for 14 runs. So I think he may have the temperament to survive in the limited-overs form. He also went very well in the 2020 Big Bash, taking nine wickets from six matches at an ER or 6.7.
Saying that, I'm sure that Cameron White will get the slot, due to his superior batting ability.
In Test cricket, I don't know. If MacGill isn't fit for Pakistan and the West Indies, then I don't think they have any choice but to go for Bryce McGain, and he's hardly a long-term solution.
