Ha! I remember when Warne was suspended, and people started wondering whether we could win without him. Last year, such was the concern at our lack of spin options that there was talk of luring Warne out of retirement to take part. But Hogg proved his detractors wrong both times. An excellent limited-overs bowler (one of the most successful ODI spinners ever), and a handy tail-end batsman.

He may not make Australia's Greatest ODI XI, but the Second XI attack of Gillespie, Fleming, Bracken and Hoggy would do very nicely.
