I do believe that the EBC has no concept of the notion that interest is generated by media exposure. Having said that neither does the BBC or Channel 4, to judge by the scheduling of highlights. A fine example is rowing. Despite regular olympic success, there is little interest in the sport outside the olympics, because...it is never on TV.
