Managers can't edit their teams after the cut-off date. The Creator can because he has to swap-in reserves in the Managers teams where necessary.

No, the Creator should only edit a Manager's team to swap-in a reserve because the main player didn't play in any of the matches. I suggest to swap-in reserves at the end of the series when you know for certain which players didn't play at all.

Perhaps a series could be split in two but more than that would be a pain. I don't agree with a new game per match because a player can have a bad one and that defeats the purpose of the game - to select the most consistent players in a series.

If some of your players didn't play at all in the series the creator should swap-in your reserves as a matter of course - that's why I included the reserves in the game design.
