Botham is a widely acknowledged fool when it comes to general selection issues (with the notable exception of Harmison). The advantages of playing Hussain for (at the very least) the NZ series to give his replacement an easier time of it starting out on flatter mid-season tracks have been well documented on this board, and I for one agree.
