I imagine the thinking was: "OK we're gonna win this one by a street, unless someone can find some really good odds somewhere, and Collingwood hasn't had much of a bat. Let's give him a chance to make some real runs. Can't hurt him, and it won't hurt KP missing out on a triple century." "No, but it would've been fun to watch."
