I've a strong record of getting on well. but robustly.. with committed Christians... but I was most taken with an scientist interviewed by Jonathan Miller for his Brief History of Disbelief series. He basically objected to being called Atheist on the grounds that he was no more against the idea of God than he was against (I can't recall his exact examples) things like fairies or the idea that the earth was flat.

To be against something you have to consider it worth being against... and to be honest.. it's fairer to say of most of us that we've simply moved on beyond the point where the question is even meaningful: faith seems such a curious notion that we simply struggle to get our heads around it.
