2006 Season Tournaments, Structure and Fixtures

This thread is about how this first season will work:

There will be 4 in-season tournaments - that will involve WAT members playing for international sides. These four competitions are: The WAT One Day Cup; The Pepsi Test Series; The VB ODI Series and The nPower 25Over Trophy.

In the off-season, we shall have the seasons best players in a WAT team to play the rest of the world, and to also tour international countries, such as England and Pakistan.

The WAT One Day Cup is a 50 over cup. It is a knockout tournament, so when you lose, you are out! It will run over the course of one week (Monday to Sunday). It will start with quarter finals.

The Pepsi Test Series will be set out like the Champions League. There will be two groups (A + B). In each group there will be 4 teams. Each team plays each of the other teams home and away once, meaning that each team plays 6 group matches. After this, the top two teams from each group will go onto the semi finals. So Grp A winner V grp B runner up and vice versa. Then there will be a tournament final. The matches will be played from Monday to Friday of each week (after WAT Cup).

The VB One Day Series will be set out in exactly the same way as The Pepsi Test Series, except that the matches will be played on different days. The Group A matches will be played on Saturday of each week, and the Group B matches on Sundays.

The nPower 25 Over Trophy will run in the same way as the WAT Cup, but at the other end of the season.

The International Tours will take place in the off-season when the best players in the four competitions will go off to play matches in different countries. Also, the WHSmith Super Series will take place, between a WAT XI and a Rest-Of-World XI.

This is how the season will look:
