ENGLAND v SRI LANKA @ Lord's:
Sri Lanka (515 & 350/3d) beat England (343 & 311) by 211 runs. Ever since the Lankans won the toss and chose to bat, it was obvious they were the better team. Compiling a massive score over 500 within 120 overs! The bowlers toiled for both sides but the better of the two attacks was obviously the Sri Lankan one, bowling the English out for a measly 343 compared to the massive 515. Sri Lanka had to bat again but this time they batted better than the first innings, losing only 3 wickets for 350 runs before declaring; leaving England with an impossible target! The English were never ahead in this match and were bowled out for 311 to give the Sri Lankans a comprehensive victory. Man Of The Match: Michael Jayawardene
