The Indians have lost their first match of the Pepsi Test Series with a crushing defeat at the hands of the Australians. NEW ZEALAND v WEST INDIES @ Auckland: West Indies (482 & 266/7) beat New Zealand (376 & 369) by 3 wickets. A spirited first innings from New Zealand set the tone in a close encounter between the bottom two teams of the group. The West Indies responded with a very large score featuring a marvellous century from Shiv Chanderpaul! The New Zealanders struggled to match the West Indian super batting - however, they were close to getting the victory as their bowling in the 4th innings was very good.
