Just out of interest, how long do you plan to knock it in for? And do you use a proper mallet or just a ball?

I used a wooden mallet and it was weird compared to using just a ball cos when i started doin the edges they were dinting! But the longer i did them the more they flattened out - does this mean im stuffing up my bat or that it is knocking in properly????
