I loved the way he brought the record up in style. First a six down the ground over Batty's head followed by a sweep to backward square leg. He may not be as technically perfect as some other players but neither was Bradman. It's a shame that Lara played in a poor West Indies team. I'm sure he would have preferred more team success than personal success. At 36 years of age he won't be around much longer. This summer might be our last chance to see him live. Will he be around for the 2007 World Cup?
