I meant to say this earlier. The Kiwis had the luxury of resting Jamie How and James Franklin for the latest game (incidentally, Franklin scored 208 for State Wellington today against State Auckland!). Does this show that the Kiwis have pretty decent strength in depth?

They thrashed the West Indies today and could have had How or Ryder in for any of the top 6.
They have Jeetan Patel who's shown in this series that he can provide decent backup for Vettori (even if he's not in the same class with bat or ball)
And they've shown that even without Jacob Oram or Chris Cairns that they have enough decent seam bowlers in reserve to trouble teams.

Looks like the current rotation policy against the Windies will give them a decent sized squad of international class players for the World Cup. I can't see them winning, or even getting to the final; but I can see them causing some of the bigger teams some serious trouble!

Or alternatively, does this just show that the West Indies are sinking to new depths?
