Nothing special really. He might play one-day cricket as and allrounder if he is lucky but other than that, if he ever play's as a regular test player we will know that Australia are in trouble.

The Fact that McGill made 27 tells you something.

If he ends the season with an average of 60+ he'd have to be in the reckoning for a tryout in the one-day squad, at least.

Perhaps but I dont think he will. Mabey I'm wrong. He is getting to that age where players hit their peak so mabey he will be a chance. But Guys like Mike and David Hussy, Brad Hodge, Mathew Elliot and Cosgrove might be a bit ahead of him.
