| WI to be replaced in the VB Series. http://aus.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/C...25NOV2004.html If this does happen and the West Indies dont come I hope they choose to play an Australia A team. Hopefully though It dosent come to that and the West Indies tour with a full strength side.

| It would be terrible if the full team couldn't make it. As you well know I support the Windies, and think they have the goods to give the aussies a run for their money, in the ODI arena anyway. It would be disappointing if they were replaced, Kenya and India being the only two other available sides.

| I'm hoping for West Indies to resolve their issues, however if the can't happen I'd rather play Aus A than Kenya (who whould really struggle to compete, and hence it's going to produce a really non sensical 3rd team like last time when Zimbabwe were involved in a string of dead rubbers which had no effect on who was going to be playing in the final) or India (with whom Aus have just last year had such a long VB series and we too will be going there just after the Aus tour to play them). |

| an article in the news here saying NZ could replace the windies if a few changes to the schedule were made. not sure if aus will think thats worth it for the likely competition nz would provide at the moment . . . |

| NZ are a better one-day side then a test side, a lot of their players are more suited to the one-day game, it's not that they would be a walk over, they are not that bad, really. I still hope though, that it doesn't come down to that, and that WI can resolve all their disputes and take part them selves. |

| Last time Aus met NZ, they lost, comprehensively, that was in the Champions Trophy. Before that Aus met NZ in the WC, and on that occasiosn I don't think you could have called it a pasting, Shane Bond shook them up, but the batters couldn't finish the job and were blown away by Brett Lee, it was reasonably comprehensive still, so I get your point. You're right about NZ winning a lot of ODIs at home, last two series they beat us 4-1, and SA too, 6-1 I guess. My point was basically that they are a better one-day side then a test side. |
