Its a stupid idea, the VB series adds life into international cricket, something to look forward to. It was a poor choice to have Zimbabwe along last year, making for poor turnouts, but three good teams makes for a very interesting series.

I'll be disappointed if its gone..

I tend to agree. However finding good compition is the problem. I hope the Windies sort out their problems soon so that we get their strongest XI this year.

The VB series is too long. India was a tired side by the time the finals came around. You can't expect players to compete in 5 Test matches and then backup in a one-day series and play 8 qualifying matches and two finals. Last years finals were an anti-climax. India was just a shadow of its normal self. Despite Australia's performance in the finals I think their players were also tired but their class got them through. I like the three-team tournament because it's good to occasionally watch matches in which Australia is not involved in but they should cut back the number of matches so the finalists are still relatively fresh when they play the finals.

Mike's right last year's series was too long, even the year before that there were a few dead rubbers, and that remember was when Sri Lanka & England were the two touring sides. I think they just need to change the format, instead of each team playing the other thrice before the finals, each team playing the other twice would be more appropriate. And please get rid of that best of the three finals format too, a final should be a single game, just one game and that's it.

Yes the tournament is just too long at the moment. Maybe if they shortened it down to playing each team 3 times and there just being one final like the Natwest series it might be more exciting but in the current format there is just too many dead rubbers- especially when one of the weaker teams is playing like last year with Zimbabwe.

It is not a good idea to end VB series but instead they should decrease number of matches
