Australia V Zimbabwe

Australia start there tour of Zimbabwe on Saturday with the first test. Given that Sri Lanka ambled to 700/2 what will Australia do? Well My money's on Australia to completely wipe the floor. Matthew Hayden fills his boots.

Will two 300's be scored in a test match? will 300 be scored in a ODI? Will Shane warne bowl eveyone out in 3 overs?

I'm not an Australia fan ,so I don't intent to upset any Aussies, And I' don't want to get involved in the whys and wherefores of the Zimbabwian situation.
MY Opinion.
Austalia are a great side, and you can't take that away from them
You can only beat the opposition in front of you, so that's a given.
If it was boxing, the ref would throw in the towel.
No record is safe.

Well Steve Waugh has gone on record as saying if Zimbabwe field the same side as they did against Sri Lanka, the series is going to be largely 'a waste of time'.

I think that pretty much sums it all up in 4 words.

i beg to differ (yet again) - the situation being what it is where do you think these guys will get any good cricket (and, if nothing else, good advice).

the last zim team said they learned a lot from the aussie´s both on and off the field - so why not some of these players who want to learn too. there are still some decent players in the team that could gain an awful lot from an aussie series.

i guess it ´s more a question of who´s time is being wasted. here a quote from today´s bullitin:

"The new Zimbabwe team was totally crushed in statistics, though not in spirit, and they can at least take hope for the future in the promise shown by Taylor and Panyangara." ("a waste of time!!?" - not for these two).

-these guys are still zim cricketers - i personally feel it´s unfair to call them a mugabe XI (that´s not directed at you scott - but it´s something being floated around a bit). i also think they need all the help they can get.

No offence intended to Australians, and despite my respect for their team, this tour is a disgrace, and not because the two sides are so mismatched.

That's hardly the fault of the Aussies mate. This ODI series should never have gone ahead. It's a 'sop' from the ICC...and nothing more.

It absolutely is the fault of the Aussies, just as it will be the fault of the English if they tour. All they had to do was get some spine, stand up and say "No". There is no defence available for the tourists, wherever they come from.
