To close to call as far as I can see, one newspaper has just 2 points between the players.

Michael Clarke has for sure made the headlines, and I think I know him personaly with the weky reports of Beny .

Good luck to both lads.

Wonder who you Aussies would pick?, tough one I reckon.

Talking Martyn for Border medal

Martyn should get Allan Border Medal , closely followed by Langer and Warne.
Clarke should be the best One-Day player of the year.
State player should be Brad Haddin or Dominic Thornley or Bevo.
Youngster award should be Xavier Marshall or Luke Butterworth.

I will come back with the results when i hear them

Lucky Symonds. I reckon he was next for the chop after Hayden. Should help him keep his spot for a few more games. Cant believe they sacked Hayden!

I reckon between Martyn and Clarke, Martyn was a better performer in the tests and Clarke was a little better in ODI's that's why Clarke won it. It must have been a tough one. Since test and ODI's votes are counter indenpendently and added later for the player of the year award, Clarke had the advantage. For me, Martyn was a better player of last year.

I agree Nikhil.

Clarke is a fantastic talent and certinly has blasted his way into the test arena. However Martyn has, on more than one occasion saved the team with a timely ton.

Possibly what went against him is the fact that, even when he got a ton, somebody else ussualy did a fantastic job too e.g Warne might have taken a five for or somebody else might have goten a ton in the next innings.

See, even he can't belive it!

One thing that must be sorted out is the delayed telecast. At 10pm i knew who the Allan Border Medallist was.

Clarke deserved it but not sure about Roy in the ODI arena. That is why the Brownlow/Allan Border medals are dubious.
