| Allan Boader quits Allan Border has resigned from the Australian cricket team selection panel. He cited a need to spend more time with his family amoung the reasons. This is a big loss for Australian Cricket and I hope his replacement can match what he has done for the Aussie team.

| And Trevor Hohns now has inspired a stampede of second rate Australian spinners to join him on the selection table "Tom Hogan" and "Ray Bright". I have noted that prior to Hohns becoming a national selector another spinner who had a less than exciting cricket carreer and who was probably definitively the worst batsmen, that either world or backyard cricket had ever seen, was ex national selector "Jim Higgs". Why do such uninspiring ex cricketers gravitate to such important position's. I can understand Boon and Border understanding the pressures of international cricket and having an intimate understanding of what "IT" is and who's got "IT". I can never remember a series outcome influenced by the deeds of Hohns, Higgs, Hogan or Bright. They all seemed to drift in and out of the team swiftly. Rodney Marsh is free at the moment, and he would be a deserving choice to head the selectors. |

| A copy of Tevor Hohns profile from baggygreen.com Profile: Largely unheralded when he made his Test debut at 34, Trevor "Cracka" Hohns played a handy role in the Ashes-winning 1989 squad, chipping in with some useful wickets, notably Ian Botham in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, bowled for a duck as he missed a charging hoick. But ageing, innocuous spinners were ten-a-penny in Australian cricket in those days, and the selectors - whose ranks Hohns would later join - went back to the likes of Greg Matthews and the two Peters, Sleep and Taylor, before Shane Warne wobbled onto the scene a few years later. |

| Firstly, good luck to Allan Border in his future endeavours... I personally think Dean Jones should be the man but given his history with Cricket Victoria I'd say that they will nominate Raymond Bright as our possible selector. Bright is a selector for the Australian U-19 team and also is a coach at the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy. Who will get it??? Probably another Queenslander unfortunately. |
