| To be fair, football trouble is getting more and more rare by the season. It still exists, of course, but that is because football is so high profile and attracts a big audience. They people are not football fans, football simply gives them an outlet, an excuse, to get violent.
I don't think a bit of booing is a problem, so long as fans don't get personal or aggressive in the crowd. I've been to a number of tests and ODIs and have seen no evidence of crowd trouble. The worst I've seen is one drunken man told to shut up for chanting a few swear words, he duly did, and two stewards attempting to catch an inflatable being chucked around the crowd.
I enjoy the atmosphere at grounds, I think it is a reflection of the diversity of people attending cricket. With the introduction of Twenty20, cricket is on the up, and the great atmosphere at ground reflects the attention and enjoyment cricket is getting and giving respectively.
I can't comment on the crowd trouble in soccer as I'm afraid I don't follow American sports.
Gone are the days where your average cricket fan acts like a stuck-up Lords member, and good riddance, I reckon.
