Warne Hounded To Retire Soon::Warne.

Shane Warne feels he will retire sooner believing he has been hounded by the media, because of his private life.

Quote:
World leading Test wicket taker Shane Warne says his off-field personal problems could hasten his retirement plans.
Well I have a lot of time for Warne, possibly the worlds best ever leg spin bowler, but he is in the public eye, and is a hero to some.
Quote:
Warne, who has 583 Test wickets, recently separated from his wife Simone after sex allegations in British tabloid newspapers last month.
Welcome to the club Shane, this has been going on sinse tabloids newspapers came on stream, but again is he to blame?, does his private life matter?.

One thing, I do feel sorry for the guy, even if he is wrong.

When he retires it will be a loss to the game. If he retires early because of the press, that would be tragic.

He is bound to be a loss, the best leggie ever I reckon, you have to be whiter than white these day, the press have no scruples.

He made his bed he has to lie in it.With lots of women who aren't his wife if the press are to be believed. If he didn't want the press intrusion why be an idiot in the first place. You'll be saying next you feel sorry for Jude Law.

Will be interesting to see what he does as Ponting is talking about wanting Warne to bowl in the 2007 ODI Wolrd Cup if Australia does not have a suitable bowler to replace him. This to me seems like he will be around for a couple of years to come.

Yes I think he will have to be asked, I think he is cheesed off.

Thing is, Australia can't replace him, players like him are born, so until they get a good replacement, I think he will still be going in 2007.

I think he will have to keep on going for a while so

(a) he can keep up the maintenance payments for his kids
(b) he can keep up with his mobile phone bill
(c) he can keep up with the the payments to the humpteen women who have'nt gone to the media with their Warnie cybersex story yet
(d) he can pay his lawyers
(e) he can afford his luxury's (heinze bake beans, victoria bitter, and pizza hut)
(f) he can smoke
(g) so he can get back in Kerry Packers good books and get another chance at a contract with the channel nine comentary team (if this guy's heir apparent to Ritchie they might have to start all cricket matches after 9.30pm to get into the mature audience veiwing time as Warnie is reknowned for letting some interesting words slip pubicly and blaming the camerman for them)

My guess he will probably retire around 2010

I agree with Ern totally - Warne will still be around in 2007. He will have to go eventually, of course, and who will replace him?

I cried when Steve Waugh retired and I will be just as sorry when Warne goes.

They did the same to Steve Waugh, forced him to retire. I think Waugh would still be playing if the selectors didnt force him out.
