Oh yea of little faith!

I am very surprised at the lack of faith some Aussies are showing. Quotes from yesterday after the the McGrath injury.

Come on - how many times have the Aussies come back against the odds to win a test convincingly? Almost always. Trust me, the Aussies will win this one in a canter as well and prove the doubters wrong yet again.

While focusing one just one player, you happened to forget the other 10 who have conquered the cricketing world. And you underestimated Kaspa. On that wicket, i would have taken Kaspa over McGrath anyway - he is a master of getting something out of dead wickets - and that was proven yesterday.
Disappointed and surprised of the defeatist attitude to be honest. Have you learned nothing from watching this Aussie team over the last three or so years?

Seamer we're going to lose at Edgbaston because we always do. The conditions dont really suit our bowlers...

Mind you this doesent seem like a normal Edgbaston wicket so perhaps the result may be different.

THIS Aussie team has not lost there. History means nothing except remembering that this Aussie team always win when they are not expected to.

Well we got 10 wickets on the first day with England scoring a sub-standard total. This wicket will not suit Englands bowlers, thats for sure, and the Aussies will amass a big total over the next two days. They will then push for an innings defeat of England on day four.

Hmmm. Pessimism is slowly turning Beny? This Aussie team has a habit of doing that

I'm sorry but 400 runs on any pitch is a good score... Australia's bowlers got hamered. They bowled very poorly.

Pessemism because our selectors picked a ageing out of form pace bowling attack that over rely's on Glenn McGrath getting the breakthrough.

Ive got to agree with Seamer on this one now

Well fellow Aussies? While you were right in the end (just) i still think my optimism was justified. The Aussies were written off after day one and they almost came back and rocked your world. No, they did'nt win - but they deserve to be given some faith now and in the future. Shame on any of you Aussies out there for writing them off is all i can say.

Yes, definitely. BUT; Seamer, I always predicted that the series will be 3-2 in Australia's favour with England to win the second and fifth tests. However, the McGrath injury swung it totally in England's favour, although I honestly don't think he'd have made a world of difference in hindsight.

Big win. If England had've lost it would've meant a 4-0 or 5-0 series. For them, it's better to win by 2 runs than 62 runs. It just shows that Australia aren't untouchable; this is the first time England have beaten them in a live rubber in quite some time.
