Dizzy's Done bye bye

That should spell the end of Gillespee's carreer. McGill will play at Old Trafford and I think Tait will get the nod to play in the 4th Test.
Two Tests and he still has'nt found form and our pace bowling stocks look incredibely bare in Glenn McGrath's absence.
So much so that I suggest the Aussies recruit Mick Lewis, Allan Wise or Shane Nofke into the team for the remainder of the season.
Kasperwicz is travelling only marginally better than Dizzy in the pie chucking stakes, never again should these two lemon merangue throwers be allowed to play together; you can cover one pie chucker but you cant hide two.
It irks me that the supporters suspected our pace bowling stocks looked deficient in particular the ageing Gillespee and Kasperwicz yet the selectors blindly picked them again partially because of past performances on away ashes series over three years ago, they believe that Gillespee would find form on tour, that never happenned.
Unfortunately he has become a deadweight to the team, with basically no future. I wish the selectors would terminate players carreer's prior to letting them reach a stage where the supporters are demanding their axing and reflective thoughts of their carreers become blurred by distasteful poor performances near the end of their carreers.
please Merv put him and us fans out of his misery.

I thought Gillespie bowled well. Better anyway. Tait got smashed in the Tour game.

Who do you think they should play in the attack for the next Test?
It looks like changes need to be made.

I would keep Kasprowicz in the team. He bowls wicket taking deliveries even if he does go for runs. He seems to be able to surprise the batsman occasionally with extra bounce.

Gillespie is not bowling well, very early to write him off altogether but he's not looking effective at all.

You should keep both in the team, after all McGrath and Warne can't go on for ever and you will have to get used to the fact that these guys are the best you have in a couple of years.

Good question John. The line "Gillespie will come good - look at his record" has become stale. He is a spent force and has to go. But who to replace him? The next test, i think it will be time to unleash McGill. But Lee got hammered this test and Kaspa is not a specialist opener. Gillespie, while a specialist opener, has no penetration and Tait is too inexperienced to risk this series. God, i hope McGrath comes good soon.

My 11
Langer, Hayden, Ponting, Martyn, Clarke, Kattitch, Gilchrist, Warne(c), Lee, Kasprowicz, McGill.
I would go with two spinners. I would choose Lee and Kaspa because they have the fitness and stamina to bowl the amount of overs that would be required with just the two pace bowlers. Tait 12th man.
I would thank Gillespie for his fine service over the years and send him home to be with his family.

But isn't his family in London (or somewhere equally dangerous)? I seem to remember it was he who was making all the fuss last week about the terrorist business.

Could a side go into a test match with only 2 pace bowlers? Wouldn't that be too much of a risk with no batsman ale to fill in with some medium or Medium Fast?

Gillespie was getting his line the last test and was looking better... He had that dropped catch although that was by himself! He could come good this next test...
