Test Match Special team are talking about a possible broken left hand?Time will tell i guess but that would be a hammerblow to you guys after McGrath.

Regardless of whether he plays at Old Trafford, hats off to Lee. I have been a harsh critic of him, labelling him a Show Pony but his second innings bowling and batting today have shown he is leagues ahead of the oft-compared Akhtar when it comes to guts and spirit.

Not his bowling hand; although he did look in some discomfort after the Flintoff blow.

Can't see why he wouldn't play with a couple of injections and quite a hefty sized brace.

Not really. He got hammered this game did'nt he. Warne is the one we cannot afford to lose, the rest are replacable. Aussies will likely go into Trent Bridge with McGill anyway - we will only need two fit seamers.

So the Aussie cricket fans prayers before bed for the remainder of the ashes is likely to go something like this (expletives deleted )

Please god, don't let Shane Warne catch any English colds, please make his mobile phone cease to work with text messaging, and keep him away from anything he may use to control his weight problems...

Even if you did play with 2 seamers I'm sure you'd rather they be Lee & McGrath than Gillespie and Kaspa at the moment. I can't see how he can play if he has broken a hand. It'll be too painful on his bowling action,

I think we're in the realms of speculation here. The guys on TMS were guessing that Lee might have broken his hand while the bloke was still in the middle. Agnew claimed he could see the swelling coming up, which might be true, but that's far from proof of a break. I can't find any news about Lee's condition, but if anything shows up, I'll post a link.

Well, I hope he's okay. He was brilliant today, and yesterday when he bowled.

That's why I hate back-to-back matches - players don't have time to recover from injuries properly, and the quality of play suffers.

The suggestion from this report from Cricinfo is that Lee is not injured. So we can expect to see more of him.
