I don't understand all of this quotation from Cricinfo, but I like the second part of it.

I think the writer of your quotation OF is pointing out that Gillespie looks a bit like a homeless person. I don't know exactly what the first bit refers to. Maybe it's pointing out the few enjoyments of Gillespie's life.

Yes he puts me off my dinner just looking at that greasy hair of his. But puts me off my cricket having to watch play - and that is worse.

His first tour choice was Rockstar INXS, but the Farris brothers did'nt phone him back after he sent them his kareoke video clip.
So he decided to go on the ashes tour laze around, eat nibblies and drink free booze instead.
