Justin Langer - captain material?

It looks like Langer may become captain of my county side (Derbyshire) has he ever given the impression he may be captain material? Has there been anything in the Aussie press regarding an move for Langer.

I think Langer would make an excellent captain. He has the temperament and the experience of being in such a successful side for a while will help him. I think it's great for Derbyshire.

I can't see how playing for a successful side would help him when he plays for us!

I think that Lanegr has got a pretty good temperament, level-headedness and bags of experience and would make a good captain.

Langer will be a good captain - experienced, committed, a proper professional and, it may just be me, but I think he has some form of captaincy experience with Middlesex, his former county.

It would help Derbyshire massively - a winning mentality.

In short, Langer is too old to take the captaincy and he lacks the flair for the job. He has the grit but sometimes it takes a bit of flair to make the team rise that extra 10%. Ponting is doing a good job at the momment despite all the knee-jerk stuff about the ashes.

Sorry Beny I was refering to the fact he may become Derbyshire captain rather than saying he should be captain of Australia.

To become captain your place should never be in doubt. Ponting's wasn't, Steve Waugh's wasnt, and going back a few years Tubby Taylor's spot wasn't in doubt either.

Although Langer consistently performs well, he is always seen as "One bad series away" from being dropped by the Aussie press.

I don't know if I haven't been clear enough. I am talking about the prospect of him becoming Derbyshire captain, not Australia's
