| I think Langer would make an excellent captain. He has the temperament and the experience of being in such a successful side for a while will help him. I think it's great for Derbyshire. |

| I think that Lanegr has got a pretty good temperament, level-headedness and bags of experience and would make a good captain. |

| Langer will be a good captain - experienced, committed, a proper professional and, it may just be me, but I think he has some form of captaincy experience with Middlesex, his former county. |

| In short, Langer is too old to take the captaincy and he lacks the flair for the job. He has the grit but sometimes it takes a bit of flair to make the team rise that extra 10%. Ponting is doing a good job at the momment despite all the knee-jerk stuff about the ashes.

| Sorry Beny I was refering to the fact he may become Derbyshire captain rather than saying he should be captain of Australia.

| To become captain your place should never be in doubt. Ponting's wasn't, Steve Waugh's wasnt, and going back a few years Tubby Taylor's spot wasn't in doubt either. Although Langer consistently performs well, he is always seen as "One bad series away" from being dropped by the Aussie press. |

| I don't know if I haven't been clear enough. I am talking about the prospect of him becoming Derbyshire captain, not Australia's
