Clarke dropped

its about time the Aussie selectors showed some ba*** and dropped a player thats out of form Clarke will come back a better player , every player goes thru form slumps but Clarke hasnt made a run in over 6 months, this should put every player on notice make runs or get wickets or back to the Pura cup

Better players than him have been dropped by the Aussie selectors for far less over the years. Most of them have come back better players and grabbed their 2nd chance Hayden,Langer and Martyn spring to mind.

Doubtless Clarke will return, but good to see him dropped. I've pointed out many times before that when he said "I'm going to be the only Aussie batsman never dropped" should've seen him ousted. But he's had a shocking 12 months, and this is perhaps whats needed.

Hus in the middle order? Innocent until proven guilty, but this poster thinks it aint a great idea.

He's done it okay in the ODIs, why not give him a try?

Clarke's a good player, but can se why he was dropped. For me, the real question is: why the hell isn't Martyn in the side? He has been their best batsman of the pats two years - save for one series - yet he may not play anotehr test again?!?

Well really you couldent drop either Hodge or Hussey as both looked supurb.

Clarke will bounce back but for now those two are going to make for a very dangerous Aussie batting line-up.

Yes, good to see the selectors finally doing there job and not sitting back and waiting to have to make the changes like they have been doing. There where several players that should have been dropped for the Ashes tour and where not due to the fact Australia kept winning anyway.

Now that we are winning again we should remove the dead wood from the tree to let it grow again. If the players are good enough they will come back - case in point Kasper took his best figures in a state game against Victoria 8/44. He has to keep doing that to let the likes of Bracken and Tait know that they still have to get wickets to stay there.

Clarke scored a double ton for New South Wales. Nice way to tell the selectors not to forget him.

They didn't miss him in the last game though.Clarke probably needs a few months scoring heavily at domestic level then he can go back into the test side full of confidence.
