Mathew Haden
Justin Langer
Ricky Ponting
Adam Gilchrist

Right now, possibly:

Hayden
Langer
Ponting
Hodge
Clarke
Hussey
Gilchrist

Though if Hayden loses form again, you could bring in Jacques or put Hussey in to open and bring in Symonds at 6.

I would agree with that Colly, although I think (apart from his double hundred) Hodge hasn't had amazing scores but the selectors will stay with him.

He's done alright, but been totally overshadowed by Hussey! Saying that, a double-hundred is good against any team so Hodge clearly has class. The only thing is that Steve Harmison had the better of him last time Durham played Lancs, dismissing him twice for very low scores.

Hang on, what am I saying?! Keep him in there!

hmm what about the ashes lol

Mmm just imagine this lineup for the ashes:

Mathew Haden
Justin Langer
Ricky Ponting
Adam Gilchrist
Micheal Hussey
Phill Jaques
Brett Lee
Glen McGrath
Shane Warne
Jason Gillespy

Also maybe Andrew Symonds -- David Hussey? -- Micky Lewis?? I just love that lineup lol.

1. Langer
2. Hayden
3. Ponting
4. Martyn- Australia's best no.4
5. Hussey
6. Clarke
7. Ghilchrist

*Symonds needs to be given every chance to transform his game. He could have made a difference in England. He is argueably the top ODI player in the world, I do believe that he can become a top commodity in test match cricket. Work with him!

It does not matter how good the batting is, if MacGill is left out of the side. He should be one of the first chosen alongside Warne. I don't care about the pitch. The dynamic duo could take wickets on the moon.

MacGill?

Symonds (at present) ahead of Clarke? Difficult decision.

You are the only other one to give Martyn a recall, rightfully so.

Gilliespie should be in the 15 or 16 man squad.
