I havent seen any of him, but his scores didnt impress me to think he will stick in the Aussies line-up. I can see a score of about 25 in the second innings

I think Jaques is a player of the future and Australia are keen to get all players they are looking to in the future playing games so that if someone retires they have the experience. In the commentary of the game it was mentioned that Aus. could have put Hussey at the top and Clarke in at 4 again. However they chose to go with Jaques which IMO shows that they are looking to the future.

I suspect so given that for years there was hardly an opening in the Australian team. In fairness, he sat third in line behind the others when the opportunity did arise. I would suggest that others that had their opportunities (which were admittedly few and far between), deserved them. Of the NSW batsmen offered a chance during this time, who would you suggest didn't deserve the opportunity? Katich certainly deserved the chance on the basis of first class performance. He might not have taken it well, but that doesn't mean that he didn't deserve the chance. Clarke? Australia's current player of the year?
