He is only 1 year older than Brett Lee, and Brett is just coming into his best. The fact is though if you saw them in England last year it was not obvious that they were so close.

Jason looked shot, he looked less lively than McGrath and while Lee was charging in, Gillespie was laboring. I think we have seen the last as the selectors seem to be looking at others, it is sad as he was such a good bowler, but there can be no room for emotion in top class cricket, and the Australians have continually made the right choice, rather than the nice choice.

I think he has lost pace (not surprising with his horror run of injuries earlier in his carreer) he needs to be bowling consistantly in the mid 140 kph range to pose a threat to batsmen, unfortunately he has dropped into the low 130's currently and is being easilly picked off.

I think the Aussies are in the stages of looking for a new crop of players rather than referring back to the old guys, the older guys that are in the team now will stay until they retire, but those that have been dropped recentley (ala Lehman, Gillespie) wont make it back into the team.

I keep on thinking of the Steve Waugh / Dizzy Gillespie collision as the major reason Jason's career has been cut short.

He'll be baak!

I think the Oz-selectors are just giving him a bit of 'shock treatment'. Exactly what they are doing to Clarke for Tests. Once they get their break I think they'll be as good as ever.

Hey. Acker, what was this collision that you talk about? I'm knew to cricket.. im interested.

I don't think Gillespie will get back into the squad. Well, I will be surprised if he does, since the squad is mostly including the younger players at the moment. I kind of agree with that, i know it's not helping our cricket at the moment (this ODI series against SA), but i believe that it will help in the long run.

I'm liking Stuart Clark at the moment, however he's not quite the standard of bowler that we expect of australian bowlers.

I was disappointed with Johnson. I mean, the legend, dennis lillie believes in him so we have got to give him a chance but from what i saw last game, he didn't look that awesome. I'm not used to seeing left arm fast bowlers so i havent a clue. Sounds cool but what are the differences?
