| Thanks... I just want to clarify here. I dont want to go overboard and suggest that this guy is horrible or what-not. But I have no doubt that he's not worthy of any great praise yet...

| I sort of follow Australian domestic tournaments on an another MB and as per the discussion I had up there and few little what I have read I believe Moises Henriques is one of the brightest young talent to appear in recent times. The fact that he took his maiden 5-fr(5/17) in only his 2nd FC game speaks volume for his raw potential which if nurtured properly is Australian future, as per my neutral perspective.

| Cameron White for me. Well as an ODI batsman anyway. We all saw him in the twenty-20, hit bowlers for 6's and 4's all round the park. an average over 50 in the twenty-20 season as well. for 20-20, his career stats show him to have a 177 strike rate with an average of 70 in 12 games. Also, he is the world record holder in highscore. But what Australia will focus on is developing him to be a dangerous middle order batsman and for him to improve on his average of 30 for limited over matches. He is the australians answer to afridi, especially with his leg-break. |

| In a post on the England forum I proposed that in 2009 our Ashes team could look like this:- Cook (Capt)* Strauss* Compton Bell* Pietersen* Bopara+ Davies+ Mahmood** Broad+ Anderson** Panesar* I have placed a star next to the players who are certain for selection in this years Ashes, a double star next to those on the fringe of selection and a cross next to the players in the A team who could get a call if there are any injuries.... as you will see only one of the players mentioned is not included in these categories. Just wondered whether you Aussies can do the same? Last edited by flanflinger : 31-10-2006 at 01:46 PM. |

| 2009 Australian test team Phil Jaques (27 years)** Tim Paine (21 years, ex U19s Captain, WK batsman, Opens the batting for Tasmania averaging 45+) Ricky Ponting (31 years)* Michael Clarke (25 years)* Mark Cosgrove (24 years)+ Cameron White (23 years)+ Shane Watson (25 years)** Brett Lee (29 years)* Mitchell Johnson (24 years)** Shaun Tate (23 years) Dan Cullan (22 years)+ (or Shane Warne because for some reason he still thinks that he will be playing) Other players that could be in the side Travis Birt (24 years, Bat) Luke Ronchi (24 yrs, WK Bat) Cullen Bailey (21 yrs, Legbreak, Shane Warne Prodigy) Moises Henriques (19 yrs, U19's Captain, Allrounder) On the English side of things Flintoff, Harmison or Trescothick could still be in the side if there bodies don't break down anymore, they would be coming to the end of there careers. I wouldnt say that Davies, Broad or Bopara have a chance of playing in the Ashes. Caddick and Hussain have just as much of a chance of playing and Hussains retired, but im supressed you didnt have Plunkett in the side.

As it is Caddick and Hussain (who is a commentator) will never play for England again, so I really can't see why you brought them up. Of the Australia team, only Ponting, Lee and Possibly Clark and Johnson, will definitely play in the Ashes this year and 2009. That means over the next year upto 7 players will go. I am consistently surprised that this does not seem to worry the Australians one bit!! |

| No I’m say that your players that are 28 and 29 at the moment wont play over 30 years of age. Obviously you do not rate them to be good enough to play test cricket at ages 30+. I’m unaware your not familiar with sarcasm, or you did not read my post properly and just guessed what I said. Cook, Strauss, Pietersen and Bell would be the only players that will defiantly play for England. Giles could go ahead of Panesar Just some of the players that are over 30 that are still playing and just look how many of these players are in the top icc player rankings Gilchrist (34 yrs) Ponting (31 yrs) Tendulkar (33 yrs) Dravid (33 yrs) Hayden (35 yrs) Langer (35 yrs) Lara (37 yrs) McGrath (36 yrs) Warne (37 yrs) Muralitharan (34 yrs) Inzimam-ul-haq (36 yrs) Yousuf (32 yrs) Kallis (31 yrs) Pollock (33 yrs) Bond (31 yrs) Vaas (32 yrs) Kumble (36 yrs) Hussey (31 yrs) Jayasuriya (37 yrs)
