Who is Australia's most talented youngster. (Under 25)

Who is Australia's most talented youngster. (Under 25)

With some good performances from young Australians like Johnson, Cullen and Cosgrove of late. Along with first class success from other young players in Australia. But who is the best young talent that Australia have?

The most complete player on show at the tournament. He arrived as the only member of the Australian squad to have represented their state at top domestic level, and he lived up to his billing. Always in the action, whether leading the side from slip, opening the bowling or batting at No. 3 and 4, Henriques exuded class and maturity. The Australian management couldn't speak highly enough of him and don't be surprised if he features at the 2011 World Cup.
This chap sounds a great prospect... but as with all the players on the list it's difficult to get any real idea of what they have to offer from the easily availbale information: does this guy have a great, natural action and the ability to move the ball both ways? IS he more manufactured, but great at getting steep bounce in the right channel? Cricinfo doesn't offer the answers!

True the only one I have not seen is Cooper, personally I think that either Cosgrove or Johnson are Australias most talented youngsters with Henriques showing that he could be something special. Maybe the first true decent allrounder that Australia have had for a long time.

No Offence to Mr Cooper... But I hardly think he's done enough to warrant that sort of billing!

If we are going on potential then there are a number of exciting players. We all saw Johnson's potential and if he can become more consistant then as Lillee said, he's a 'once in a generation player'- a left arm quick who can swing the ball.

Cosgrove and Cullen need no introduction and we all know what I think of Henriques!

Yes Cooper has not done anything really exciting but he must be doing something right, and he is apparently a very talented batsman and for a young bloke who is 19 he has done a bit. I wouldn’t say he has shown as much talent as Henriques or the others on the list but this thread is about talent and up and coming players. I was hoping someone here has seen a bit of him and can comment, but there aren’t a lot of Australians compared to the English supporters.

I dont think Cooper even made the 1st XI for the AUS U/19... Plenty of talent ahead of him.

In terms of Batsmen his age, I can think of 3 or so better prospects.

Well you would be incorrect then; he made 104 against South Africa and averaged well over 50 for the tournament. Who are the three better 19 year old batsman in Australia?

I have only heard good things about him.

Well I do know that Cooper played for Australia in the Under 19 side against India in the ODI 5 game series.

He did ok in that with a top score of 62.

Played in all 5 matchs = 162 Runs, 32.40 Average at a SR of 98.78.

His stats where the 4th best in the Australians and 6th best over all.
