Im sorry but have Lara and Tendulkar retired? Brian is 37 but may well go on until hes 40 and Sachin is only 18 months or so older than Ponting. Ponting may need another 4-5000 runs to become all time leader so lets not get over excited.

RP is a great no doubt...and playing at his peak, but it should also be remembered that he has played his career in one of the most dominant teams in living memory. Lara has toiled in a hopeless Windies set up on pitches that are hardly batsmen friendly, and India have been more interested in one day cricket. Ricky has also had the benefit of even bouncing Aussie pitches and hasnt had to face the 2 best bowlers of his generation, Shane Warne or Glen Mcgrath.

So give him his due yes, but lets calm it down a bit chaps.

He will pass both of them, Tendulkar and Lara are not the players they use to be.

One of those that go 50/50.Not a bad decision but as a batsman you feel slightly hard done by.Hawkeye had it hitting the top of the stumps (Not that it is a faultless guide though) so England will feel it was a correct decision.

Certainly a fairer decision than the ones McGrath and Strauss have had.
