Glenn McGrath embarrasses his critics

Glenn McGrath has came back to bowl in his first test in a year and so many people were saying he was finished and doubted that he was going to make any impact on this ashes series. People with out any evidence have rubbished and McGrath has annihilated any criticism with is 6/50 off 23 overs in the first innings.

He has done what i thought he could do when he was fresh. In the 2nd innings he looked tired which was the point i was making,if England can see off the first 15 overs in a match from him then i think he may well struggle as he hasn't got the fitness he used to have which isn't surprising given his age and lack of cricket over the last 12 months.

Im actually concerned for Mcgrath... reports say he hada bruised heel therefore took a painkiller injection to play, he did definately look less of a threat in the second innings.. i for one do not think he will last through the ashes. He is a great bowler and asset to his team, his spirit is undoubtable... i loved the way he walked like an old man for 2 secs before going off to give his critics some stick but i do not think his body can keep up.

They made the same mistake last time - playing a half-fit McGrath and it bit them. I'm suggesting the same thing will happen again.

The two tests we lost in 2005 were the games McGrath did not play. Maybe the selectors consider him a good luck charm or something
He did'nt look 100% today and his pace was down. But he did his job by keeping it tight as least.

McGrath at 80% still outbowled Lee... whose performace was again at a level that would be considered unsatisfactory from Anderson.

36 years old a fast bowler and carrying an injury
Who the hell are our selectors "Larry, Curly and Moe"
Get real no wonder us the public and ex skipper Allan Border veiw the 3 stooges Hilditch, Merv and the Boony doll with contempt.
Take off the rose colored glasses and stop reading Cinderella at bedtime, Tait or Johnson should have played not an injured McGrath

And don't forget that take away his bowling, if he had been fully fit, he should have caught KP at the death, the fact was that a fit player should have atleast got to the ball,

This was always going to be the risk with McGrath, he is still the best bowler in world cricket, but the fact is that, at his age, injuries are more frequent and take longer to heal.

The biggest problem is that with a four man attack, lose one bowler and the odds are very much against you. Lee still looks average, and Clark (the best bowler on show) bowled the least number of overs of the four main bowlers!!

You have to what Ponting was doing under-bowling Clark and over bowling Lee!!!
