| A couple of things: Bracken can bowl up to 140 km/hr (I've seen him do it this series), he varies his pace, and bowls in the 120's when bowling cutters, and sometimes with the old ball. A lot of his success is because he varies his pace so greatly. He also saved our asses in the Champions trophy, has 90 wickets at an average of 21, and has only had a bad couple of games. 3 games ago, he had taken 10 wickets at an average of 16 for the series. He should have had Bell today (if McGrath hadn't greased up his hands) then we would have won and we wouldn't be having this conversation. Bracken has more pace than Clark. Playing Clark is NOT understandable when playing in one-dayers. He has never performed in the shorter form of the game, either in international games, or in domestic one-dayers. It's past time that he's dropped permanently from the one-day team, he's purely a test bowler. I can't believe Hilfenhaus hasn't got another game yet (in place of Clark or Johnson). |

| Bracken 140 kph What cyclone was that in Over hyped N.S.W cricketer who has delivered nothing with numerous opportunities at national level. |

| personally I think you should concentrate on replacing Shane Watson, he was poor today. Bracken, OK, wasn't the greatest day for him but he wasn't the worse bowler on the pitch. McGrath has tons of experience, he knows the score. He's clever, canny, fair enough he's dropped pace, but he's so damn accurate he's always dangerous.

| Believe what you want, but he's hit 140 with the new ball. And 90 wickets at an average of 21 (SR of 28), and hero of the Champions trophy, suggests to me that he's contributed something to the national team. Let me guess, you've got a tad of bias against the NSW team? |

And I wasn't accusing you of bias towards NSW. Talking to the poster above |

| Hogg did bowl very well today, he confused a few batsman (especially Flintoff), but perhaps his poor haircut obstructed him

Brett Lee & Stuart Clark But I do mind those hanging on for a superannuation "Glenn McGrath" and those that I scratch my head as to why they are their at all "Nathan Bracken" over superior bowlers Mitchell Johnson, Shane Harwood, Shaun Tait and Ben Hifenhaus. Even Mick Lewis. New South Wales is no longer a power in domestic cricket, the Waughs like Elvis have departed the building. Why is this guy being allowed more opportunity than others who have more right to have a go ? Last edited by acker : 09-02-2007 at 01:41 PM. Reason: spelling |

| You want Stuart Clark? The same Clark that averages 31, goes for 5.5 runs an over, and can't seem to move the white ball or prevent himself from being blasted? I was annoyed that he was getting a spot ahead of Tait. I'm really annoyed that a hat-trick with the red ball against the warriors has put him back into consideration for the World Cup, despite an entire series of doing nothing with the white ball. God-damn it, Tait had better get a 6fer tomorrow. McGrath's been given one last hurrah, whether warranted or not (and personally, Hilfenhaus or Tait deserves his spot). And you won't remove Bracken as long as he's demolishing batting line ups. |
