| Can't speak for the rest of them but i think Dizzy is at Yorkshire for his batting as it can't be his bowling,1-30 in 12 overs in the match shows he is hardly rated by Gough when Gough himself who is supposedly past it had match figures of 6-78 off 22 overs. Dizzy got 36 wickets in the entire season last season which shows he is poor and i don't know why they got him back. Also you conveniently ignore the fact that it was a run feast all over the country due to the unusually warm spring we are having. |

| Its funny though because Gillespie is only 32 years old and has always been seen as a better bowler than Gough. Since 2005 ashes he has been seen to be no longer even a decent state or county bowler. He played ten matches last season for South Australia in Pura Cup and took 30 wickets at 28.43 which is decent but not his best. He took 36 wickets at 33.61 which is not good by his standard but he was second in Yorkshire wicket takers for the season with Kruis taking 38 wickets at 35.31. Any county and state side would take Gillespie. Gillespie in the CC Championships, took 1/23 off ten in the first innings and 0/7 off 2 overs. Also in the Friends Provident Trophy Gillespie took 2/29 off 10.

| I was at Trent Bridge for the Notts - Yorkshire (foreign) CC match yesterday. The two Aussies on show played their part in an entertaining day. Hussey captaining Notts in Fleming's absence put Yorkshire in and was always encouraging his bowlers. Gillespie didn't get to bat but didn't take long to strike when bowling, foxing Bilal Shafayat with a superb slower ball. He bowled an excellent line and length and was difficult to get away. The only boundary hit off him in his first spell was his final ball that Hussey danced down the pitch to and smashed way over long off for a huge six. Hussey and Mark Wagh looked to be getting Notts into the match but Hussey showed why he will never wear the Baggy Green. Having taken 4-6-4 off successive balls from Deon Kruis he then unwisely tried to hit another four over cover but picked out Craig White, departing for 28 from 21 balls. The man has the raw talent to play International cricket but not the temperament. He could have won the match for Notts easily yesterday but got carried away. Gillespie came back for a final spell of four overs and continued to prove difficult to hit. Reward came when Paul Franks skied an attempted pull to Darren Gough at mid-on. His 10-0-29-2 was a major improvement on ths last time I sawe Dizzy live, at Bristol in 2005 when KP smashed him everywhere! |

| Cameron White scored another century yesterday for Somerset. He seems to be doing quite well and yet gets ignored by Oz. With so many older players retiring (or about to), I think he should be considered. |

| Botha and Pipe put on 200 for the 7th wicket in the first innings of the match (building on the 221 from Katich and 153 for Harvey) and following White's departure with Somerset on 393... the 8th and 9th wicket partnerships added nearly 150! A batting line up of Phil Tufnell, Alan Mullally, Dev Malcolm, Ed Giddens, Aggers and the like would produce a passable score and the odd half century on the Somerset runway right now!
