Thumbs up Congratulations Australia On Winning The 2007 World Cup

Congratulations to the Australia team who outclassed all the other sides, also to Glen McGrath for his Man Of The Series award.

The other sides just could not compete with the Aussie batting in this form of cricket.

I hope the other World sides raise their standards - in order to give Australia a game.

Thanks Ernest

Allthough I think Cricket needs to have a big re think who they award staging rights of the World cup to.
I am OK with some first round games being played grounds of lesser quality. But that final finished in the dark where were the lights ?
Plus putting the price of admission tickets totally out of the reach of the local's that cricket was trying to reach out to by having it in the West Indies was ridiculous. Imagine if they tried charging $75 US Dollars per ticket at Eden Gardens Calcutta.
Sadly if the World Cup gets back to the carribean at some stage in the future I think it will be as 2nd fiddle to a tournament held in the States.

Congrats to the Aussies anyway. They once again proved that they really do hunt together like a "pack of wolves"! (dingoes?) And like a hungry hunting pack, they were not going to let the prey (Trophy) get away from them...

Maybe most other teams in world cricket dont really have to raise their game. Perhaps they just need to get the Aussie monkey off their backs?

No for any team wishing to reach the heights Australia did in the world cup, they will need their top eight to all be able to score at a run a ball, and a bowling attack that contains deadly accurate left arm swing bowling, deadly acurate right arm pace bowling, an extremely quick slinger, and a left are spinner with an unpickable wrong-un.

If I wrote what I am thinking I would be banned from this forum.

Please tell me the occasions where you think we were lucky,we HAMMERED every team in EVERY match,no one got within a million miles of giving us even a warm up...Australia's cricket team are the same as Tiger Woods is to golf, absolutely unbeatable when they have decided they want to win ANYTHING.

By the way Wanderer,I just noticed you are from the "CHOKER" country, your team can't win a chook in a raffle.

Aussies deserved it. The England v Australia match rounded it up for me. England 180-2 odd looking to get 300 and end up being bowled out for 240 odd. Really shows the class of Australia, who were being battered by Bell and Pieterson but they got Bell out (With some luck) then showed why England are such a poor team by taking the next 6 wickets nicely. They hardly broke a sweat batting, Had England got around 270, we would have made it close, but that really does show why Australia deserved to win the World Cup, came back from a shoddy spell and won with comfort.

Oh Jonty, you really ought not to take cricket so seriously....Its not life and death you know

Yes, the Aussies hammered Scotland....and the Netherlands...Whoopee!

BTW. I may live in SA, but I am not a Protea supporter. And that is where my tongue-in-cheek remark about Australia getting "lucky" came in. They were lucky that they got to play South Africa twice

Australia nearly took 10 wickets each match and every time they batted first in a full 50 over match they made well over 300. Unfortunately there was no competition in a world cup that Pakistan and India were knocked out early.
