I have been watching the WA/NSW match and i am very pleased to see the results of all the work they have put into the WACA wicket - it has regained the bounce and pace that has been absent for the last few seasons.

You would have to say that India is a good chance of copping hiding there next summer

Luke Ronchi 104 for W.A, interesting times ahead in the Haddin versus Ronchi battle.

yea thats a good point.

Haddin would be slightly favoured at the moment but if Ronchi continues to score 100's he will definitely push for selection when Gilly calls it a day.

Queensland have easily gained 1st innings points @ the Gabba.

After bowling 1st the Bulls cleaned up Tassie for 158 with Ash Noffke the destroyer taking 5/33.

Now after 127 overs the Bulls are 6/347 with great batting efforts from Broad (94),Moller(78) and Perren (63).

Not only if Ronchi keeps scoring 100's but also if Haddin keeps looking as lost as he did against the Indian spinners expecially Kartik early in his innings in the ODI in Nagpur. 6 off 29 balls was not a good look he has improved that since to 22 off 44 courtesy of a very helpful 6 off Harbijan.

Haddin out for a very ugly 25 off 53 balls.

He hit one of Sreesanth straight to Tendulkat at mid-off.

Considering it was a pretty self indulgent innings that showed he had "NFI" about playing spin, and we only won by 18 runs. I have put Haddin on my bullet list.
The quicker he is given the bullet from the national team the better. And that includes test's also.
He just has to many handicaps, flat fast wicket good even bounce fine he is great; but once their is a variable involved uneven bounce, swing, spin or seam he is terrible.
Bring on Luke Ronchi sooner rather than later.

How quickly people forget that Haddin's innings in the 2nd ODI (a MOM performance) was the only reason Australia was able to post such a commanding total. 2 50's and 1 relatively low score means a brilliant series from Australia's number 2 keeper. Haddin has a stranglehold over the number 2 gloveman, having an average 20 points higher than Ronchi's in last year's Pura Cup, and 30 points higher than Ronchi in last year's Ford Ranger's. Haddin is an all-round more stable batsman than Ronchi, he has a better head on his shoulders and he knows what is required from him in an innings, and he scores runs more consistently. Ronchi is more hit and miss. I disagree with you about Haddin's last innings being self-indulgent. After a semi middle order collapse Haddin helped stabalise the middle order and left Symonds to score briskly. Quick scoring in that situation wasn't a priority, at 4 down Haddin had to make sure he stayed in for a while and that Australia had wickets at the end, and he did. It means he knows how to play more than one role, something I can't say for Luke 'go down swinging' Ronchi.

Speaking of Ronchi by the way, he has just furthered his claims for the national side scoring a brisk 5(14) before falling victim to Mark Cameron. A slow, gritty and ugly innings (like Haddin just played) wouldn't have gone astray there.

And speaking of Mark Cameron, people should be watching out for this guy. He's had many injury problems which has kept him from bowling the last few years, but he's just managed to get back into the NSW squad. Last year, he played 2 Pura Cup games taking 9 wickets and conceding 203 runs, and he has just started this year with authority taking 5 for 33 and ripping through the hyped batsmen from Western Australia (Langer, Rogers, Voges, Ronchi). Edmonson took 4 NSW wickets but most of them were just bowlers.

On another note, Phil Jaques is 73 not out in his second innings, a big score here will almost ensure his test selection, remembering that he comprehensively outplayed Rogers in the recent test series against Pakistan A.

Jaques has his century, 103 off 171 balls undefeated with 17 boundaries. Peter Forrest playing a nice support innings here, 24 off 94 balls and continuing to hold up one end. NSW 185 for 1 approaching the end of the 59th.

It also looks like Bandy and Edmondson are unable to bowl for Western Australia (injuries?) If so, it's going to be a long, long, long day in the field for the Warriors.

EDIT: The Warriors are indeed down to only 3 bowlers (not including Voges), so they are in deep trouble. Jaques is out off the bowling of Heal for 167, NSW are 288 for 2 with a lead of approximately 450. Forrest is still calmly accumulating on 63(164).
