Pretty much even if you ask me. If anything, Ponting's team's task was tougher without McGrath & Warne for a few of the tests. The 3-0 win South Africa stands out IMO.

As for the players, yes most aren't up to the standard of the aussies but I'd take Vettori over any current aussie spinner anyday and Bond over almost all of your pace bowlers.

It's hard to develop a winning test match culture when the administration is determined to give you as little test match cricket as possible instead focusing on the cash cow that is one day cricket/2020.
I won't take Bond over Lee, Clark, Tait or Johnson. Yeah Vettroi is better, but you expect something like that to happen when the greatest ever spinner the game has seen retires.

The quality of players in the Kiwi side is also nothing to cheer about _ mostly bits & pieces cricketers.

Well The streak seems to have come to an end and waugh's warning was right "When you least expect it, cricket comes back and bites you" and history is going to repeat itself just as it did in calcutta after 16 wins in a row . Similarly , We also lost the ashes in 2005 after 16 years of winning .
16 happens to be our unlucky number .

Well if they carry on the run this would be one of the great test victories.

how uncertain this game of cricket is...yeah the correct option has no votes....well we indians prove to be the bane of the aussies during thier unbeaten runs...honestly speaking another 5 mins in sydney wouldve left the tally at 15 ...but the script written by the almighty was equaling the record...and a loss for the aussies at the fastest pitch on the earth... by India!!...and the aberration doesn't stop there....the match is won by indian seamers which wouldve sounded like a joke 5-6 years back... and its laxman into the act again...what a knock by him in those circumstances...i'm loving this....it would be perfect if we manage a win in adelaide to square the series....i know the aussies r gonna come harder...but it would be a befitting result specially for tendulkar, dravid, ganguly, kumble, all possibly in thier last tour of aus
