Wonderful selective stat FF

Lets grab another selective stat while we are here

Mitchel Johnson in lead up to the S.L test series

Against NSW - 35 overs, 0wickets, 155 runs

Now in the FF rules of selection, Johnson is obviously useless and question marks should be put on his position in the QLD team.

But the fact is, we select on what is coming out of the hand, not what crickinfo stats say. Get a quality player that is bowling well, put a baggy green on his head, throw him into a champion side, and it all changes very quickly.

LOL - though in his defense... it was in pyjama cricket at the Adelaide Oval... a ground Boycott repeatedly highlights as so batsman friendly that he'd have like (as a batsman) to have carried it around the world and use it for all of his Tests... and especially to neuter the WI quicks he so feared.

A total of 305 posted.. and then passed with 3 overs to spare and with 7 wickets in hand: that's not a game of cricket, it's a joke.

Time for the ICC pitch inspectors, anyone?

C'mon FF. You don't rate Hogg and, from the posts i have read of yours, you never have. You are not the only one, and are entitled to bag him if you want. Nothing wrong with that. I do exactly the same for guys like G.Smith and I.Bell - next to useless under pressure the both of them

I must admit that as a bowler I feel he is limited, however, when I met him he was a decent enough guy with a great sense of humor!!

Mike he honestly did not help himself by not getting fit.

Warnie started off cricket in similar shape to Boof, but Warnie worked hard on his fitness.

You mention Martyn in your post, he took physichal fitness and diet to the extreme. And enjoyed a good stint playing in the test and one day sides.

Boof what might have been, if you had been fitter.

On the other hand, I was not impressed by Adam Voges' captaincy at all.
The reasons for which were confirmed today. Think about it- you're leading by 300 runs on the last day. You need a win to push for a place in the top two. So what do you do? Bat until tea and play for the draw, of course.

When it comes time for the panel to select Australia's A-Team, I will have strong words for anyone who thinks Voges should lead it.
