Hypocrytical ex-players

I saw that Geoff Lawson has jumped on his high horse in regards to the Aussie cricket team

Lawson: Aussies considered 'arrogant' - Cricket - Fox Sports

I thought his comments to be a bit rich though i must say. Yes we can look at the current Aus/Ind controversy and find perfect examples of on youtube or whatever exposing what a bunch of hypocrites they are.

But what about all these ex players who's careers ended before the advent of the internet. In regards to Lawson, i remember him as one of the most distasteful cricketers i have ever seen. But we can't go to youtube for examples, we only have memories.

Or old cricket yearbooks that happen to be hanging around

Anyone else here reckon Lawson is a hypocrite??

Aren't most ex players hypocrites though?

When you listen to the likes of Gavaskar,Botham,Holding,Lawson and many more you would think they are the cleanest players ever to have played the game and never made a mistake and all of todays players are a disgrace.

There is also the greatest irony of them all that Chris Broad is a match referee after all the things he did while playing.

Geez

If I likened the ABC commentary box this test match to U.S politic's

I would liken Jim Maxwell to George W Bush-blissfully unaware.

Peter Roebuck to Dick Cheeney-very willing to shoot his hunting partners head off with a shot-gun

And now Geoff Lawson as Hilary Clinton-blindly submissive to husband Bill

Thank goodness Kerry O'Keefe as Barrack Obama-common sense prevails

With very few exceptions like Benaud, I never cared for opinions of former players of any country. Yes, there is a very distinct tendency to get on the High Horse and lecture the current lot, forgetting that they were in simlar - if not the same - shoes themselves years or decades earlier.

Botham is another. I intend to compile footage of his many lame efforts when fox run their WSC classics next week, and i intend to get Audio feed of him when he commentates next. I will then edit the audio track over footage of him playing, so it gives the impression that he is commentating on himself. Then post it to Youtube

Now tonight i heard another pearl from from the brickwall Boycott while he was commentating in the WI/SA match

"They have to get on with it, they are there to win the match for god's sake"

Sunil Gavaskar, for one seems to have some issues against Australia. He still can't forget the Lillee incident when he initiated that disgraceful walkout. The irony is that he tries to defend his action. Not to mention he's biased to the core, can't forget when he rated Abdul Qadir over Warne, I mean Qadir was a very good bowler, but WTF?

Sunil Gavaskar is a nutcase who would have issues against his own shadow if he thought he could make a point. Great batsman, no doubt, but seven cans short of a sixpack.

Can't believe the guy's opinions are respected by a number of people. Probably scoring 13 tons against the West Indies has given him the license to speak nonsense.
